This competition incorporates a selection of the proposals that we have considered the most daring and as having an intense auteur feeling and that represent the heterogeneity of the Galician film scene.

In MARCAS, I brought back three poems I wrote when I was 16 to 18 years old, and made up a number of visual poems in which images of my body on the screen are accompanied by my voice reciting. With this sort of triptych, I am somehow going back to adolescence and rediscovering myself, and my ghosts. A piece shot in Super 8 at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.

I get home from my poorly paid job. Late again. I open the fridge and remember that not only was I unable to prepare myself a lunch box for today but, in addition, I did not even have time to do the shopping. It is the end of the month and I cannot afford eating out. I look lustfully at my flatmates’ shelves but see nothing I can steal without them realising. I end up cooking some pesto pasta and taking the dish to my room. My wall full of posters, photographs and drawings is a window. I close my eyes, I am no longer there, I am in any other time, in any other place.

As horas cegas (The Blind Hours) is a portrait of the night and the ones who walk through it. We travel around following the steps of a delivery man whose route is repeated night after night and who helps us generate a trance, a dynamic and immersive observation around this figure of the worker and the landscape during darkness.

Across nocturnal landscapes, I walk in the footsteps of brigand Pepa a Loba, accompanied by her inseparable dog. A blind search among the fictitious traces and the documentary nature of the mark she left on the lands of A Terra Chá.
